Dear Parents/Carers,

It has been a very busy week at school. We have had Country Day on Monday with the finale being a parade in the playground with the children chanting and showing their art work. There was even a Mexican wave with all classes joining in. The best class voted by the children was Year 6! Well done! Now it’s just the country display judging to do. The judges will be me and the prefects from year 6.

Thank you for your attendance at parents evenings this week. It is great for us as a school to be able to tell you just how well your children are progressing. We couldn’t have predicted the Wednesday parents evening being the World Cup semi-final for England but true to form you all turned up.

It has been another fantastic year for SATs results. Both year 6 and year 2 have excelled themselves. Well done to all the children and all the staff of Blacklow Brow School.

It is with great sadness we say goodbye to three members of staff who are moving on to pastures new. Mr Taylor is moving on to be Assistant Head at another primary school in Knowsley. Mrs Campbell is moving on to another school in Knowsley and Miss Byron is taking a fantastic opportunity to teach in Abu Dhabi for the next few years. We all wish them well in their new ventures and thank them for all their hard work with our children. They will be missed.

Mrs J Williams—Head of School
